Come the middle of August, I had racked up a lot of comp time after working long hours collecting pounds and pounds of seeds. Catherine came down for a short vacation between ending work and starting school. We decided to take a long weekend at Grand Teton National Park, and do a bit of camping.
The first night, we hiked back 3 miles to Phelps Lake. It was a beautifiul hike, and we had our own little beach right along the lake. I was excited because I got to test out all my new camping gear that I had acquired over the past few months. The morning at the lake was amazing, because we woke up to a moose swimming in the lake. After a short while it started running towards us, so we took a step back and it ran about 15 feet in front of us. Craziness!
We hiked out that morning and into another site.
